Youth of the Year

The National Youth of the Year program, established in 1947, recognizes Club members who, with the help of their Club, have met personal challenges head-on and, despite the odds, have given back to their Club and community. Youth of the Year winners have demonstrated service to Club, community and family; academic success; strong moral character; life goals; and poise and public speaking ability. These high achievers personify the values and character of their hometown Club.

Winners from the local Club level participate in regional competitions across the state, then at the state level in Denver, then the national regional competition, culminating in the national competition held each September in Washington DC. This annual competition concludes with a visit to the President and dates back to the Truman administration.

As BGCA’s premier youth recognition program, Youth of the Year honorees are shining examples and living proof that…
